So my purpose of the story is to not run out and buy something, go shop your closets or garage for that something old turned to new.
This is my “Vignette” also known as a grouping or table scape. It’s a collection of some of your favorite pieces grouped together on a shelf, coffee table, counter etc. Fun to create by picking a theme, rummaging thru your house to find items that will play well together and pulling it all together.
So I recently learned the correct term for this is a “Vignette” as the designers call it. Ok whatever. I do know this, that there is a correct way to do one or “ITS JUST NOT RIGHT” We have all made one of those.
Here is what I pulled together for my Vignette. I am proud of it and it makes me smile when I pass by. There is stuff in there from Target to O’Flanary’s Emporium and Hobby Lobby and who knows where else. I only put the poster board behind it so the picture would stand out. Excuse yourself Mr. Poster Board!
Maybe you can share with us whats in your Vignette 🙂
Below is an informative site that explains all about Vignette’s and how to’s.
“Happy Vignetteing” (just made up that word)
These are two pumpkins I made that we’re super easy and fast. They are my book page pumpkins and below are the links where I got the basics to make them. I added my own flair with the items that I glued to the stems.
These links will help you on how to do the book page pumpkins, super easy and fun. I also went to Thrift Store and bought an old music sheet book and used the sheet music pages to decoupage some other pumpkins. I gave those away before I took a picture so I must make some more.
This is a great tutorial on how to make the “Book Pumpkins”. I then decorated the pumpkin stems differently with buttons, tulle, homemade flowers, ribbon etc… This is where you can make it your own.
I love these pumpkins and they go so well with all different types of decor, depending on what you add to them, be it whimsical, scary, modern or vintage.Hope you enjoy as much as I did and Thank-you to the women I got the links from.
I purchased this lamp at Crate n Barrel a few years ago and I have always thought, “this lampshade is just so white”. Its been moved around in several rooms and made its way into the garage until further use. Further use day came when I decided to re-do my entry way table. The lamp found its way there and looked ok, but once again I was telling myself, “it’s just so white”. I had to do something to it and it had to be simple and fast (or I wont do it). Looked on Pinterest and searched Lampshades. This is what I came up with. The one I found had favorite Quotes written all over it which was cute but I decided on my “Love Story”, grabbed my fine point Sharpie and started writing my husbands and mine story in brief. From how we met to where we are now. It took about 15 minutes and was very easy. I did not write it down first just dove right in.I was so pleased that I am excited about doing some more and maybe little lamps for gifts and customize them to the reciever. You can buy new replacement shades at Target for around $8.00 or watch garage sales and thrift stores because an old one could add some character. So favorite quotes, favorite lines from songs or I think this one would be cute, a small lamp in your kitchen tucked in the corner with a fun recipe wrote on it.
What would your Lampshade say?
