Gorgeous and her new collar

Meet our rescue dog Gorgeous

We got her last December and she moved right into our home and hearts. She is a terrier mix and loves every human being and critter on this planet.

With such a great name she deserved a collar to match. I purchased this collar at Walmart for around $5.00, dug through my craft closet of a jar I have of misc. flowers, mostly from Hobby Lobby and some that I made from an old sheet, anyway they are all fabric so can be gently washed.

I hot glued them to the collar and sprayed with Scotch Guard brand spray to protect them a little longer from dirt. She barked and pawed at me while I made it because she was so excited.

Miss Gorgeous knows now how even more Gorgeous she is,if I could have only captured the moment on Kodak when I put the collar on her and told her how pretty she was 😊

Flower of the Month-Hyacinth

Myth associated with Hyacinth

Hyacinth was a beautiful youth loved by both the god Apollo and the West Wind, Zephyr. Apollo and Hyacinth took turns at throwing the discus. Hyacinth ran to catch it to impress Apollo, but he was struck by the discus as it fell to the ground, and died.[3] A twist in the tale makes the wind god Zephyrus responsible for the death of Hyacinth.[4] The youth’s beauty caused a feud between Zephyrus and Apollo. Jealous that Hyacinth preferred the radiant archery god Apollo, Zephyrus blew Apollo’s discus off course, so as to injure and kill Hyacinth. Apollo did not allow Hades to claim Hyacinth. Instead, Apollo made a flower, the hyacinth, from Hyacinth’s spilled blood.

Everyone or thing has a story…

What I do know is that these flowers are so beautiful and fragrant that I could fill my house with them. The market I shop at has a cute little floral shop that I hit first when I do my grocery shopping. From great priced bouquets to plants, vases and really cute nick knacks. So today I was lured in there by the wonderful scent of the Hyacinth Flowers. The scent is so wonderful I just want to rub it on me and inhale it like a drug. I have never tried growing them out in this Desert Paradise I live in and sure they would shrivel up fast, so for this month I will enjoy this potted little pretty in doors and get head rush’s from all my inhaling.

Go treat yourself and your family to one…they are a little piece of Heaven.

Ciao

Montana’s Summer Bounty

It is my favorite time of year in Montana. Being from the Desert you can only imagine the relief we get when we pull up to the Montana get away and everything is GREEN.Leaving the Desert (3 shades of brown, light brown, medium brown and dark brown) I am welcomed with the beautiful colors of Montana. The Desert has its beauty do not get me wrong but the Summer’s are getting Browner in our “older age”.

So when we get to Montana I cannot wait until Saturday Morning’s Farmer’s Market. It is truly one of my favorite places to visit. The produce, fresh flowers, little Ladies with their Knitted Goodies, Men with their Wood Crafted Projects, it is so refreshing to view after coming from our neck of the woods where most of these crafts are an object of the past .The colors of everything just jump out and grab me and give me a little loving feeling. So I hope you have a few moments to enjoy the pictures I have put together from last year at the Farmer’s Market. They say we should “Stop and Smell the Flowers” or “Slow down we move to fast” I hope these pictures make you do just that…

This little elderly couple is the cutest, I love them and do not even know them. They sell a few flowers and a few veggies, really nothing special but I think they just love being there and watching the world go by 🙂

Ciao!

P.S. Thank-you to my great picture taker, Michael 🙂
